Mikron 102 MPS Overhaul Process
We realize you have many options when it comes to equipment, including:
- Buying new machines,
- Buying used machines,
- Continuing to operate and repair your machine, as you go along, or
- Overhauling your existing machine.
Although overhauling may not be the least expensive option, we believe it will be the best one in the long run.
In making your decision please keep in mind the following points:
- We have extensive, technical expertise in repairing, maintaining and overhauling
- Mikron machines.
- We have overhauled more than 100 Mikron machines
- We have an extensive inventory of parts and technical drawings
- You are offered two overhauling options
- Overhauling will be done at the factory, so as not to interfere with your operation
- There is a 12 month warranty

1. Universal Hobbing Machine Mikron 102
The Mikron 102 Gear Hobbing Machine is a very robust machine with outstanding features such as high universality and precision as well as simple operation. Our experience proves that a Mikron 102 lasts for many years if the maintenance is done regularly and in a professional manner.
After a few years in operation, we recommend to overhaul the machine. The scope of work is summarized in the table below.
2. Scope of Work

2.1 Measuring accuracy, check and re-adjust backlash, clean components, apply
Grease or oil where required on the following main components:
- Tailstock
- Hob spindle
- Cylinder guide of hob spindle
- Lead screw of horizontal slide
- Horizontal slide
- Support of main motor
- Grind main spindle to gain concentricity (for collets)
- Replace bearing of electro motors
- Replace V-belt in MPS
- Replace main belt
- Test hydraulic unit
- Replace damaged cables
- Replace damaged or outworn hoses
- Hob height adjustment
- Housing for change wheels
- Main headstock spindle
- Differential gearing
- V-belt pulleys in MPS
- Belt pulleys of main motor
Check and adjust electrical components: (where possible)
- Electro couplings for axial and radial feed
- Operation switches
- Limit switches
- Electro motors
2.2 The same scope of work as above, except:
The control unit will be replaced completely with a new control unit, SPS based with an Omron controller and Touch screen operation. (See reference picture above)
In case additional components need to be replaced which are not listed above, We will inform you accordingly.
3. Exclusions from Scope of Supply
- Painting
- Packing and transportation
4. Terms and Conditions
Delivery Conditions: FCA Dagmersellen, Switzerland, according to Incoterms 2010, without any taxes and duties.
Warranty: 12 months incl. unlimited shift work after commissioning but latest 15 months after delivery.
Liability: In no case shall the Purchaser have the right to claim compensation for any damages which do not relate directly to the delivery object itself, specifically for damages relating for example to production downtime, loss of usage, loss of earnings or profit or any other direct or indirect damages.
Completion Time: In case of a mechanical overhaul and electrical check 1 month after machine arrival at the factory, with purchase order and deposit. In case of overhaul including exchange of controller 3 months after arrival at the factory, with purchase order and down payment.
