Company History

engineering gears
Hanik was formed in 1983 by Mr. Heinz Nikles for the main purpose of providing technical and managerial consulting service to the gear manufacturing and machine tool industry. It has since grown into other market segments such as cutting tool development, machine tool service, and replacement parts.

Born in Switzerland, Heinz studied as an engineer in both Switzerland and the United States. He got his start in the machine tool industry as an engineer. While employed at Illinois Tool Works in the early 1970s, Heinz advanced into the sales department where he honed his skills. As manager for import products in the 1980s, Heinz independently formed Hanik Associates. The company was formally incorporated in 1986 as “Hanik Corporation” and went on to successfully supply tooling and service throughout the gear industry.

Heinz Nikles passed away in January 2013. Although the sale and service of gear machines and equipment is no longer provided, Hanik Corporation continues to provide customers with precision gear cutting tools and Mikron parts as well as tool resharpening, rework, engineering, and consultation.
